Jesus & Joe: A Coffee Devotional
The Christian life is a position of offense.
1 Peter 5:8 says, “Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour. (emphasis mine)
Your enemy is constantly active. Prowling. Seeking. His nature is a verb.
His life is movement.
Heaven’s to Betsy, don’t wait until you’re knocked down to get in the game.
Play the offense and pay attention.
Let us never be caught inactive. When it comes to pursuing Jesus, be watchful and resist the devil. BE MORE ACTIVE THAN HIM.
What does this look like? Abiding in Christ.
It isn’t hard. But it is intentional.
You are more powerful than him WHEN you are in the game.
Stagnant is not a characteristic of a Christian.
Steadfast is.
This isn’t a game of Flag Football. It’s full pads.
