John With Georgia

Two weeks ago I had a conversation with a dear friend from North Carolina. A wife and mom of three. A friend who is living life in the hustle and noise of this crazy world. Just like all of us.
Her name is Georgia.
And Georgia, who is a wife and mom of three, my friend who is living her life in the hustle and noise of this crazy world, is hungry for God. She desires a closer relationship with Him. And longs for Him to do a work in her life.
I would dare to say, again, just like all of us.
Georgia told me, “I started reading through the Bible, but got overwhelmed. I didn’t grow up in church, so I’m not sure of the best place to start. I want to learn. And read. And grow, but I need someone to help me begin.”
I’ll stop there.
Hear me out – I never want to discourage anyone from reading through the Bible. I’m not crazy. But taking on the entire Bible, start to finish, is a hearty task. Even for the most seasoned Bible-reader.
So I encouraged Georgia, “Read through the Book of John with me. Let’s start there. I’ll do it with you!”
She hugged me. My sweet friend Georgia from North Carolina.
A wife and mom of three. Hungry and ready to grow.
As I sat before the Lord yesterday, He gave me an idea.
I love it when that happens!
I began mapping out the Gospel of John in small, bite-size pieces. I made sure to keep the main points in tact and each section brief. Together we will read a daily taste of poignancy – a perfect portion for any palette.
Five days a week. Georgia and I.
From today until Thanksgiving. Just in time for Advent.
AND! I’d love to extend this invitation to you!!
Will you join us on our 10-week journey?
The journey of John With Georgia…

Come each morning to our Facebook page and find your daily reading there. I won’t overwhelm you, I promise.
Here’s what you need:
1) A Bible that is an enjoyable read. (I love you King James, but for this read I am thinking the New Living Translation)
2) Clean pages of a journal or notebook for those “ah-ha” moments or memorable verses.
3) Find your Georgia. And if you can’t find a friend named Georgia, then maybe a Kelly, Beth or Kathryn. Share this journey through John with a friend.
So will you join me for John with Georgia? Oh good!! Here is today’s reading to jump-start our week!
Share your commitment on Facebook. Tweet your teenager. Text your friends. Call your dad. Send a pigeon.Whatever you can do to spread the word… that you are on a journey through the Gospel of John.
