A Little Sermon … Within a Sermon

This summer our pastors are teaching a series onLiving With The End In Mind.  A sermon series with our bookmarks pitched in First and Second Thessalonians.

Yesterday morning we flipped through passages, all concerning our daily manner of living.  A manner of living that is, specifically, worthy of the Lord.

A manner of living that is fully pleasing to a Living God.  (click above and listen if you have time – such great stuff.)

As I sat in my seat, flipping along with the church body through references, the Lord spoke to me separately.

About something a different.

Asermon within a sermon.

A word from the Lord…about my boys.

“Turn with me to Colossians 1:9-10,” my pastor said.

And so from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, adding that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.

He said.

being the Lord.  Not my pastor.

Mmm.  Yes.  Great idea.

So I wrote myself a note.

At that my Bestie, who was sitting next to me, leaned in and whispered, “That would be a great one to pray over my kids.”

I smiled and nodded, pointing to my sloppy note.

We grinned in agreement.

(A love a little confirmation.)

I do believe the Lord has given me a Spirit-led passage for some prayer cards

Yay. Love that.

Will you take a minute…if even a minute…but a minute to pray this over someone special to you?

Who might that someone be today?

{And even though I don’t know exactly who all is reading this right now, know that I prayed this over you, too.  ~grin~}

Do you recall a time that the Lord has given you a like this?

<p>Years ago, I was speaking at a mountain retreat in a cabin full of new moms. I had brought my mentor Debbie with me for prayer (and a bit of moral support) as I was very new to leading women&#8217;
