Death By Living – A BOOK GIVEAWAY

If you have never read N.D. Wilson’s writing before, is it rude to start by saying, “You’re welcome”?  Maybe a little rude, but y’all.  Listen.  You know that Becky Crenshaw thinks in color.  And dreams in pictures.  And I learn the things of God in story. His Story intertwined with my own.

Well, N.D.Wilson does, as well.  No other author can make me belly laugh, cry and furrow my brow in deep thought like this guy.

In his book,Death by Living: Life Is Meant To Be Spent,Wilson “infuses every page with an eloquent and organic mood of worship. It’s a book that entertains, informs, provokes, and moves, but all toward the end of bringing glory to the Greatest Storyteller of all. It confronts us with our own wrinkly and decaying destiny even as it vigorously shakes our shoulders, slams on our helmet, and hustles us back onto the field while there’s time left on the clock. There is work still to do and ground yet to cover. Sunrises and sunsets to behold. Families to make. Kindness, love, and forgiveness to be given.”  This book reminds us and awakens us to the fact that “we may only die once, but we can choose to die daily to ourselves and, in that, to truly live. For as the old prayer goes, it is in giving that we receive, in pardoning that we are pardoned, and in dying that we are born to eternal life.” – Christianity Today.

To that, let me get a good “Mmmm” and “Amen”!  Don’t you want this!?  I am SO THANKFUL to Wilson’s publishing and PR team for sending me THREE of these amazing books.  One for me and two for you!

So how do you win one? Today we are sharing quotes!

I love me a good quote.  Words stick like glue to my memory. And I assure you, if you read ANY of N.D. Wilson’s books or his day,  Douglas Wilson’s , books you know how quotable their writing is!  I will start us off here and then you leave a comment to finish us out and complete your entry.  Your favorite quote can be from a book you are currently reading.  Your “ah-ha!” moment of Scripture.  Or a favorite line from your pastor notes from Sunday (my journal is eaten up with those!).  P.S. If you share this giveaway on Facebook, that will enter you twice!

“Stories mean trouble.  Stories mean hardship. The fall of man did not introduce evil; it placed us on the wrong side of it, under its rule, needing rescue.  And God is not an aura ruling auras.  His Son has flesh even now.  You have flesh. This story [The Gospel] is concrete, it is for real, and its played for keeps.” – Death By Living, p. 77
